Courses to help you curate your own creative path, Recording Services, Engineering, Voice Over, Film Scoring, and more...

Enter your email for the free video "Metacognitive Creation"

In this video, we discuss the act of creation from inspiration to actualization. We cover the essential mindsets and practices required to rocket you ahead in your creative path in any field, through the lens of music, the universal language of mankind. You will learn about what I have identified as the key brain wave states for the process of creation, and how to access those states of consciousness at will. This will help you to achieve new levels of connectivity between different regions of the brain, which is crucial for perception, movement, memory, and emotion.

The Challenges of Learning and Progressing on an Instrument

Release fear and turn passion into PURPOSE!

Have you fed yourself negative self-talk like, "It's too time consuming to learn or progress on an instrument" or "I'll never be able to play like that"? Do you feel as though you've put in countless hours of work practicing just to barely touch a level of competency which would allow you to even play along with your favorite songs? Soo many people just like you feel overwhelmed or ashamed by their perceived sense of ability and hard-earned accomplishments on a given instrument without being happy with the results... I'm here to tell you that THERE IS A BETTER WAY!

Slow and steady wins the race!

I've seen so many musicians, (from novice to pro) that want so badly to be able to play something above their current ability and go about it ALL WRONG. They push and push at playing it as if they are ready to perform it PERFECTLY. Blasting away at full speed, trying to play chord changes that their hands wont yet do, shredding away in a flurry of notes their fingers, hands, and feet are not yet warmed up to play... THIS IS NOT THE WAY!

Stop comparing yourself to others and never stop improving!

If you aspire to play like another musician, you've immediately put a cap on your growth. Compare yourself ONLY to yourself and you will ALWAYS become better. This philosophy works in all aspects of life. Time to shut out the noise and work! ARE YOU READY FOR THE SOLUTION?

How You Can Overcome these Challenges and WIN!

Discipline > Motivation

Now, (seemingly more than ever) we are bombarded by a constant barrage of carefully curated content... Content designed to show you what its creators WANT you to see. While the magick of pulling a rabbit from a hat is quite awe inspiring, it is more important still to be cognizant of the process by which that rabbit was first placed into the hat.  Take inspiration from the works of others but be aware that it was not achieved without focused, EFFICIENT effort and driven purpose.

Trying to shred immediately above your pay grade without devotion to the process only enforces incorrect muscle memory and does not allow for improvement. Imagine trying to shoot a 3-point shot on a basketball court just by lobbing the ball wildly over and over in the general direction of the hoop... Sure, you may sloppily make it once in a while, but you are not able to repeat that shot effortlessly and with style & grace. In fact, you could do it for years and still not be able to smoothly make the shot. This causes extreme fatigue, burnout, and diminishes your will to grow as a player.  Only working on form and technique in a slow yet consistent & progressing manner will get you there.

The same goes for learning a certain part, technique, or style on an instrument...

-SLOW DOWN, work out parts only as fast as you can play them CLEANLY and CORRECTLY

-USE A METRONOME, play consistently ONLY at a speed in which you can correctly play what you are attempting. When you can play it there, STOP, bump up the tempo a small amount, and go again!

This is a simplified version of JUST ONE of the methods I've developed, which if utilized will SKYROCKET your ability to achieve your musical goals!
